The house is complete (mostly)

The house is mostly complete and ready for us to move in.

We started this phase on May 7th and work has been completed as of June 19th. That works out to 7 weeks for the framing, walls, roof, flooring and stairs. The finish work is up to us which includes kitchen cabinets, deck railings, and the rest of the plumbing and the electrical.

Now we can move out of town onto our own property to enjoy some quiet time, amazing views and work at our own pace to do the rest.

This is a very tropical house. Our focus is to feel local, use little electricity and have the lightest impact on the world around us as possible. We don't have air conditioning, but we do have really good air flow through the house.

We will have another story that details all the finish work. We simply don't know what it is that we want yet but we know we are ready to move in!

We are so grateful for our construction crew. Most of these guys have been with us from the start of this adventure.
