Crabs are all over the place.
Everywhere we look, we manage to find crabs. They are all fairly small with the majority being fiddler crabs, but we have some hermit crabs and some other types. They are a lot of fun to watch if you sit quietly for a few minutes.
The weird thing is where we find them.
Of course we see them down in the dock area. And not too far from the dock in the mud areas. But we are puzzled as to why we find them up by the house and even IN THE HOUSE a few times. Why? How?
We have even seen these little crabs deep in the jungle. Basically they are everywhere.
No, none of the crabs we have seen are ones you would eat. But we have been told that out in the deep water, there are places where large crabs exist. Based on the stories from the locals, those get to be about 18 inches across.
