Casa de Tortugas - Stories

We have two new water tanks

We just put two new water tanks in place. Each tank is 660 gallons. We have room to easily add two more later if we decide we need them.

We started our day at the ferry dock where the two tanks got loaded onto the boat. The tanks were just a tad tall to fit under the canopy so we set them on their side. This made traveling a lot easier as it was difficult to see with the one in front while it was standing up.

Each tank is about 5 feet across and just over 6 feet tall. They aren't too heavy but not something that could be easily carried. To get them up the hill to the house, we used rope. We tied to our solar  array on one end, made a loop around the tank, then we pulled. The tanks came right up without too much difficulty.

Once at the top, we just rolled them into place. They will be plumbed in on the back side of the house over the next few days.
