The Zapatilla islands are about 5 miles and a few minutes from our dock. For us, these are the "weather rock". When we can see them, we know the weather is fine. But when they vanish, we know bad weather is coming or is already upon us. We set up one of our security cameras to monitor the view. A new image is uploaded every 5 minutes and this page automatically refreshes every minute so you can also enjoy our view. You can view the islands on Google Maps.
We have added some nice features like the sunrise and sunset times as well as an estimate of the moon phase. We are taking snapshots of sunrise and sunset images too. We even added a YouTube channel so you can look back at timelapse videos of various kinds.
Sorry that you see nothing but spider webs out of focus some times in the night. The camera is in a location that the spiders seem to enjoy. We try to keep it clean but the webs are very hard to see until we notice them on the camera, and they only show up when the camera is in night mode. The camera is fairly high up so it isn't easy to clean on a daily basis.
