Casa de Tortugas - Stories

Southern House Wren

We have a bunch of these guys around the house.

A pair has even made a nest in our rafters out on the edge of the deck porch. They don't seem to be hurting anything so we are leaving them be. We suspect they might have eggs as the female hardly ever leaves the nest. And when she does she isn't gone long. There is no way for us to get close enough to safely get a picture or even a peek into the nest. So as long as they want to stay, we don't mind.

It is nice to have them sing to use. The male is very vocal and loves to stand on the railing as well as on the post by the nest and just sing for hours.

View some of the other animals we have seen.
