Filling gaps between the roof and the wall

Where the roof meets the wall, there are gaps where the arches in the roof do not connect with the wall. To fill these gaps, I cut the top off of a can of beans with my grinder. Then ran the grinder all the way around to make this cut even sharper. I used the can to cut semicircles out of a block of foam that came as packing material. Styrofoam is too firm but this packing foam is somewhat squishy and about two inches thick. I cut many semicircles, then used a razor knife to make a new (mostly) straight edge and then cut again and again until I had all the parts I needed. Each piece was then pressed into the gap between the wall and roof. This helps to keep insects from making their way over the wall into the house at night when inside lighting attracts them to these gaps. At first I was trying to cut these with a razor knife before I realized this fairly simple solution. Using this can with a slight twisting motion was much easier than using a knife.

From the inside these plugs can't be seen at all. From the outside they are visible because the foam I have is white. I could color them black or possibly push them a little further in. But honestly, they really aren't something we notice being so high up. This turned out to be a rather simple solution and a good use of material that we would otherwise need to dispose of. Below the board is screening. It is hard to tell from the photo, but this screen allows air to flow while keeping the bugs out.
